Our art history program immerses students in the world of art. From ancient civilizations to contemporary masterpieces, our courses challenge students to see art from different perspectives and engage with diverse artistic traditions. Students explore art movements, styles, and cultural contexts as they build a deep understanding of visual analysis and interpretation of both art and architecture.

Career Paths
A Bachelor of Arts in Art History from UNC Asheville empowers students to pursue a range of exciting career paths. Study Abroad
Students in Art and Art History have numerous opportunities for study abroad experiences, from full year to semester to summer programs. Through our study abroad office, programs tailored to art and art history are available at many universities throughout the world. Many of these programs are equivalent in cost to attending UNC Asheville and some offer partial or full scholarships. In recent years, our students have studied in Paris, Rome, Florence, Japan, and London. Faculty-led summer programs also provide students with opportunities for short-term experiences such as travel to Greece or working on an archaeological dig in Italy.
